Limits until you claim it

  • Database

    1

  • Services

    2

  • Storage

    50 GB

  • Each worker

    1 CPU, 2 GiB

  • Time to claim

    48 hours

Until it is claimed, each database and service runs on 1 worker with up to 1 CPU, 2 GiB of memory and 10 GB of disk, its pods reach the internet on ports 80, 443 and 5432 only, and services answer only requests that carry its key. Once claimed, the Community plan's limits apply.

How it works

  1. 01

    Get one

    pxt new

It prints the database URI and a claim link, and later pxt commands on that machine use the new database.

  2. 02

    Build

    pxt service update app.py pxt://trial-x7k2:main

Your agent writes app.py, names the database in pixeltable.toml as pxt new shows, and runs pxt db update, pxt schema update and pxt service update. The last one prints the service URL.

  3. 03

    Keep it

    pixeltable.com/claim

Open the claim link and sign in or sign up within 48 hours. The organization becomes yours, with the same data, services and URLs.

Add what to build, and Claude Code, Codex or Cursor runs pxt new, builds it, and sends you the service URL and the claim link.

No Python? Step 6 of /auth.md gets the same database with curl.

Questions

Do I need an account?
No. pxt new creates an organization with one database, main, and keeps its key on your machine for later pxt commands. You sign in or sign up only to claim it.
How long does it last?
Unclaimed, it is deleted 48 hours after it was created, with everything in it. pxt whoami shows when. Claim it before then to keep it.
What happens when I claim it?
You sign in or sign up and become the organization's admin. Its data, services and URLs stay as they are, the Community plan's limits replace the ones above, and you choose whether your agent's key keeps working.
Who can claim it?
Anyone with the link, so send it only to the person who should own it. pxt new prints it once, when it creates the database, and pxt logout prints it once more.
What can I build on it?
Whatever one app.py declares, within the limits above: tables, computed columns, embedding indexes, media, and the HTTP services that serve them.
Is it really free?
Yes: no account, no card and nothing to cancel. Unclaimed, it is deleted; claimed, it is on the free Community plan until you upgrade it.
